August J. Goyke

August J. Goyke, 89, of Pawnee passed away Nov. 30, 2016 at St. John’s Hospice.

August was born May 23, 1927 in Chicago, the son of August and Louise Goyke.

He married Loretta J. Szymski on July 29, 1950 in Chicago and she preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2012.

August served in the Merchant Marines for 4 years.  He later retired from Commonwealth Edison after working there for 39 years.  He enjoyed his time outside working in his yard and time with family.

He is survived by his four children, Larry (Pat) of Union Grove, WI, Lynn (Joe) Parker, Sharon (Elmer) Neal and Bill (Char) all of Pawnee; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. till 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn.  Additional visitation will be Monday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Auburn from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Palakudy officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.

Memorials may be made to Pawnee Fire Department or Pawnee Food Pantry.
