Wanda Lee (Seiders) Ketchum Obituary

Wanda Lee (Seiders) Ketchum, 88, of Auburn, passed away suddenly September 10, 2022 at Eastland Retirement Community.

Wanda was born June 27, 1934, to Frank and Irene (Kesegi) Seiders at the family residence in Divernon, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Frances (Seiders) Sheplar, Norma (Seiders) Mills and Ivy (Seiders) Albano; her brothers John "Jack" Seiders, Frank "Skeets" Seiders, William Seiders, and twins Denney and Don Seiders.

She attended Divernon High School and was class salutatorian of 1952.  She married her high school sweetheart, James Edward "Jim" Ketchum on May 29, 1955 at the Divernon Baptist Church.  Wanda and Jim raised four daughters in Auburn, Illinois where they lived for 67 years.  The couple owned and operated Edgewood Shooting Park on Divernon Road south of Auburn.  

Wanda was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed watching Fighting Illini basketball.  Wanda travelled domestically to Gettysburg, Boston, Washington D.C., Hawaii and Arizona.  Her favorite location was Manhattan as it came with the opportunity to see the Today show in person.  Wanda also followed the bowling championships of her grandsons and the competitive dancing of her granddaughters.

Wanda is survived by her husband; four daughters Becky (Scott) Wiley of Freeport, Dee Dee (Kevin) Walsh of St. Louis, and twins Kris (Andy) Nothnagel of Edwardsville and Kelly (David) Brown of Freeport; grandsons Kevin and Christopher Wiley; granddaughters Rachel Carlson and Melanie Brown; great-granddaughters Ellia and twins Noa and Rowyn Wiley; brother Jim (Maris) Seiders of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law Dorothy (Van Giesen) Seiders of Farmersville, Illinois; sister-in-law Rita (Janessee) Seiders of Springfield, Illinois; in-laws Bob and Joyce (Ladage) Ketchum of Arizona and Sammy and Janice Barger of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 am till time of Celebration of Life at 11 am, Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022 at the Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn, Illinois.   Please wear baseball attire, preferably St. Louis Cardinals, but any team is fine.  A graveside farewell follows at Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon, Illinois.
