Vernon (Red) Green, 81 of Divernon passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at Springfield Memorial.
He was born July 27, 1943 in Carlinville; the son of Cyril and Doris Shearer Green.
He married Donna Kay Baker and they later divorced. He later married Dorothy Kruse on March 23, 1991 and she preceded him in death on October 25, 2021. Also, preceded in death by one brother, Gary.
Red was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and gardener. He worked at Thermic Refractories in Girard for many years. He later worked for SIU School of Medicine. He loved to fix things.
Surviving are his three children, Richard (Louis Parker, Jr) Green, Ron (Gwen) Green and Diane (Ken Drake) Green; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Wise; one brother, Bruce (Anita) Green; five step-children, Cheri (Bill) Chernisky, Diane (Adam) Halbrook-White, Ron Halbrook, Karen Halbrook and Sandy Panting; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 11am, Saturday April 12, 2025 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd., Divernon. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon
