Verne Mundhenke, 90 of Pawnee passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 17, 1931 in Morrisonville, the son of August and Theresa Cashen Mundhenke. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert.
He married Joan White on June 1, 1953.
Verne served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Tractor Supply for 17 years. He was retired from the State of Illinois. He was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham. He served on the Pawnee School Board and Pawnee Village Board.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; six children, Janeece Robertson, Cindy (Mike) Murphy, Debbie (Terry) Agans, Steve (Jill) Mundhenke, Pam (Todd) Tarr and Scott (Jodi) Mundhenke; ten grandchildren, Bobby (Christina) Murphy, Megan (Jody) Crouch, Chris (Sarah) Agans, Melissa (Ricky) Lamberti, Kyle (Caroline) Mundhenke, Alan (Sarah) Mundhenke, Courtney (Jonathan) Schrage, Katelyn Tarr, Chase and Ty Mundhenke; three step-grandchildren, Bree Robertson, Allison Kohlbecker and Nick (Nicole) Robertson; twelve great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; three nieces.
Per CDC and Governor’s mandate masks are required in the building.
Visitation will be from 5pm till 7pm, Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. Additional visitation will be from 12noon till time of funeral mass at 1pm, Saturday at St. Joseph’s the Worker Catholic Church, Chatham with Rev. Joseph Molloy officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pawnee.
