Thomas “Tom” E. Maupin, 67 of Pawnee passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born Oct. 1, 1954 in Springfield, the son of Ted and Mary Pike Maupin.
He married Inez McEvers in 1974 and she preceded him in death in 2005. Also, preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Frances Maupin and step-father, Art Stevens; granddaughter, Myrissa Lockhart.
Tom lived and worked in Pawnee all of his life. He was a volunteer for the Pawnee Fire Department and was a farm hand for a few farmers around town. He retired as a custodian and bus driver for Pawnee School District. He also owned and operated Tom’s Tree Services. Tom enjoyed repairing and making jewelry. He collected coins and CB radios and just recently discovered his talent for drawing.
Tom had a heart of gold and knew everyone in town and was always there to help anyone. He had a love for all animals and nature.
Surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Maupin Lockhart and Sonya (Kevin) Maupin McCreight; three granddaughters, Kieara, Shelby and Marley; three grandsons, Aaron, Brandon (Lindsey) and Corey (Amy); 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Maupin and Bonnie (Mark) Hoffman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; his beloved dog, Lady.
Visitation will be from 4 until time of services at 6pm, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn with Rev. David Harmon officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Memorials may be made to Pawnee Fire Department or Pawnee Food Pantry.
