Thomas (Tom) L. Doolin

Thomas (Tom) L. Doolin, 89, of Ashland, IL, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born in Pleasant Plains, IL to Thomas “Havey” and Lillian B. Doolin on February 20, 1936.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Butch” Sherwood Doolin.

Tom married Joyce Schmidt on December 17, 1955 and she survives.

Tom drove a semi for over 40 years.  He had a passion for smoking all varieties of meat for family and friends.

Also surviving are two sons, Tom (Becki), Donald (Cheri) and one daughter, Lori (Tim Bramley) Lewis; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Tony Trapani) Doolin, Ryan (Katie) Doolin, Jamie (Brent Clark) Smith, Jennifer Lewis, Matt Hillyer, Brandon (Veda) Keppler, Jeff (Megan) Keppler; Great Grandchildren Adleigh, Paisley, Riggston, Nora, Reese, Piper, Derek, Clayton, Wailyn, Emmett, Josie, David Lee.

Graveside services will be at 11am, Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cass Schuyler Hospice, 331 S. Main, Virginia, IL 62691.
