Thomas (Ted) Theodore Dowson, 85 of Auburn passed away in the early hours Monday, August 5, 2024.
He was born December 5, 1938, the son of Lucille and Harold (Freck) Dowson. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Joe Dobson and twin great-granddaughter.
Ted attended school in Divernon before joining the Air National Guard. Upon returning from the military, Ted dedicated his time to his true passion for farming with his wife, Mary Sue. As a third-generation farmer in the Auburn-Divernon area. He could almost always be found working a successful dairy and hog operation with his two brothers or tending to the fields in his John Deere tractors.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Sue; children, Becky Dobson, Brenda (Scott) Mottar and Bonnie (Keith) Horn; grandchildren, Jodi (John) Reese, Lynde (Zack) Pavich, Tony (Danielle) Dobson, Jenna (Dillion) Pearce and Danielle (Austin) Kane; fourteen wonderful great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron (Edwina) Dowson and Larry (Linda) Dowson; one sister, Sue (Bill) Boston; several nieces and nephews and his furry companion, Peanuts.
Visitation will be from 10am till time of memorial service at 12noon, Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Bramley Funeral Home, 11 N. 1st St., Divernon. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Cumberland Sugar Creek Cemetery, Glenarm.
