Sandy L. Zimmerman

Sandy L. Zimmerman, 60 of Divernon passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born September 26, 1962 in Decatur the daughter of Paul and Iris Dyke Shaffer.

She married Kevin Zimmerman on May 19, 1990.

Sandy or Sam as she was known to her friends, graduated from Glenwood High School in 1980 and went to work alongside her mom at AC & R in Chatham. She was a devout Pittsburgh Steelers fan whose greatest joy was spoiling her grandbabies.

Sandy had a soft spot for canines in need and always made sure they had comfortable bed and full belly in her house.  The same went for any of her kids’ friends needing a safe space and love.

Surviving are her husband, Kevin; two daughters, Desiree (Joe) Sayne and Rhianne (Travis Krus) Zimmerman; one son, Steven (Kyla) Zimmerman; four grandchildren, Berkley, Avery, Declan, Steven, and one on the way, Landon; three sisters, Donna (Keith) Anderson, Suzy Byrd and Paula (Terry) Sanderfield; her canine companion, Cinnamon; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words in this time of loss.
