It is with heavy hearts we announce that Roland Paul Creed, of Auburn, Illinois, passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 24, 1948, to Joseph T. Creed and Florence M. Creed, Roland lived a life defined by service, education, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Roland served honorably in the Vietnam War. His deep sense of duty continued well beyond his military years as he dedicated over 30 years of his life to education in the Auburn School District, where he served as both a teacher and principal. Known for his integrity, compassion, and commitment, Roland left an indelible mark on generations of students and colleagues.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patsy K. Creed. He is survived by his loving wife, Son T. Creed; his son, Joseph E. Creed, and daughter-in-law, Tammi; and his four cherished grandchildren—Molli, Samuel, Kaci, and Peter—each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Roland’s legacy is one of quiet strength, service to others, and a steadfast love for family and community. His gentle presence and wise counsel will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
His family will greet friends and loved ones on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Auburn Cemetery.
Roland’s granddaughter, Kaci, is the first person in the world to be diagnosed with the PPFIA3 gene mutation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online to Texas Children’s Hospital using the link below, or by mail with a comment designating the donation to “Dr. Chao’s Duncan NRI PPFIA3 research.”
