Robert N. “Bobby” Burton, 63 of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2022, in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.
Bobby was born July 31, 1958, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of Robert and Donna May MacMurdo Burton. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Jesse and Ona Burton and Bob and Mary Lucille (Bill) MacMurdo; two uncles, Jack Burton and John MacMurdo; and one aunt, Beverly Ervin.
He married Kim Parkhurst on August 21, 1993, in Auburn, Illinois.
He attended school in Auburn and received an Associate’s Degree from LLCC in Agricultural studies. He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic at Beatty Implement and for the past 22 years for Sangamon County Highway Department. He was also a member of the Auburn Fire Department for over 40 years, wearing many hats such as Training Officer, Chief and Lieutenant.
Bobby loved Cardinal baseball, coaching his kid’s baseball and basketball teams, and playing volleyball.
Family meant everything to Bobby. His children and grandkids were his pride and joy.
Surviving are his wife, Kim; three wonderful children, Jordan (Jessica) Burton of Canton, IL, Katie (Casey) Bova of Aurora, CO and Kristen Burton of Aurora, CO; two grandsons, Cohen and Nolan Bova who adored their papa as he did them, and three dogs; Bentley, LucyBelle and Max; father, Bob Burton; three aunts Judy (Lee) Dodd, Judy Burton, Barbara MacMurdo and Marilyn Burton and many cousins.
Visitation will be from 9am till time of services at 11am, Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn with Pastor David VanBebber officiating. Burial in Auburn Cemetery.
