Robert L. Emerson

Robert L. Emerson, 79,  of Springfield, formerly of Divernon, passed away Wed., July 21, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 28, 1941 in Springfield, the son of LaVerne and Wilhelmina Curby Emerson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Katherine Elaine and one brother, John “Jack” Emerson.

Robert served in the Illinois Air National Guard for 35 years. He later worked as a registrar for HSHS Medical Group.

Surviving are his sister-in-law, Shirley Emerson; two nieces, Alicia Emerson, and Marissa (Kevin Shotsberger); and one great niece.   Robert’s very special friends include Diane Grey and Josh Grey.

Visitation will be from 10am till time of services at 11am on Sat., August 7, 2021 at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will be at a later date in Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon.
