R. Kenneth McCrady, 81 of Springfield formerly of Divernon passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 4, 1939 in Havana, IL, the son of Raymond and Mildred Dare McCrady. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Bill Luckhart; sister, Millie Turner and brother, Charles.
Ken married Joan Cawley on April 27, 1957.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960. Ken worked for Sears Roebuck for 33 years. He also worked for ABCO and was a home builder and remodeler. He was a member of the Divernon United Methodist Church and Divernon Sportsman Club.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; five sons, Raymond (Denise), Rodney ( Debbie), Randy, Ryan (Jenna) and Rhett (Denise); ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, DeEtta Hadley and Wilma Parkhurst; several nieces and nephews.
Per CDC regulations and Governor’s mandate only 50 people will be allowed and masks are required in the building.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 from 4pm till 6pm at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. Private family services will follow with Rev. Adam Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors conducted by Inter- Veteran’s Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
Memorials may be made to Divernon American Legion Auxiliary or Divernon Food Pantry.
