Paul Thomas Hunley, 79 of Auburn passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his home.
He was born in Springfield on July 20, 1943 to Paul and Mary Jayne Hunley.
He married Lynn Schuster on February 2, 1964 and she survives.
I am writing this obituary when my physical health is ok. My doctor put an expiration date on me which really shocked me. Though a strong believer in Jesus Christ and life hereafter, I was hoping this would not be happening so soon.
Now is the time I am supposed to list all my world changing accomplishments-nothing comes to mind. What I did leave was a wife that was not perfect, but as close as anyone could be. Picking the very best lady out of three and a half billion proves I had help. Without a doubt she was more than I deserved. Together we had two sons, Paul (Nikki) and Brett (Melissa) who were my whole world. Probably didn’t tell them that, but in my own way tried to show it. Most likely I didn‘t do a great job at that.
I guess my greatest gifts were my grandkids Luke, Grace, Anna, Carter, Noah and Levi. They gave me so much joy, fun, pride, laughter, and just crazy family silliness. I can honestly say I was blessed beyond what I deserve. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about not being with this family.
I was raised by great parents, Paul and Mary Jayne Hunley (who did an excellent job parenting). I have two sisters, Kay Titchenal and Judy Ackerman. This part of my family I had no input or selective power. It turned out to be a great choice, especially after they got older.
I was a farmer all of my life which I dearly loved (most of the time).
I want to thank all of my friends for letting me be a part of their lives.
Don’t want any sad faces or grief. Life was very good to me and I am very thankful. Tom
P.S. Lynn you can miss me for a little while-hopefully.
