Patricia "Pat" J. Leahy

Patricia J "Pat" Leahy, 87, of Whidbey Island, Washington passed away on March 18, 2025, in Whidbey General Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1937, in Springfield, Illinois to Ivan and Sarah (Burtle) Leahy. She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew, Jeff Cady, and great-nephew, Josh Eaton.

Pat graduated from Auburn High School in 1955 and Normal State Teachers College (Illinois State). For more than 30 years, she taught elementary school and was an administrator in California. Upon retirement, she moved to Whidbey Island.

Pat is survived by her partner of 50 years, Sandy Hubert; siblings Ruth Ann Cady, Cypress, CA; Mary King, Camdenton, MO; Mag Leahy, Camdenton, MO; Larry Leahy of Auburn, IL; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Pat was a wonderful light in this world. Her optimism and good nature were infectious. She never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything. All that knew her loved her, and she loved them. She will be greatly missed.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Saint Bernard Cemetery in Glenarm, IL.
