Norman L. Gardner, 96 of Auburn passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Sunrise Manor in Virden.
He was born August 26, 1926 in Portland, OR the son of Robert and Bessie Steingrandt Gardner.
Norman married Rayvella Austin and she preceded him in death. He later married Dora Allgood and she survives. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Gardner; a sister, Enola Howell; and a granddaughter, Jessica Gardner.
He served in the Army Air Forces during WWII. He was a member of the Auburn Church of God. Norman then became a member of Prairie Temple Assembly of God in Virden.
Surviving are his wife, Dora; eight children, Collene (Jon) Reynolds, Leland (Sue) Gardner, Rick (Vicki) Gardner, Mark (Judy) Gardner, Janelle (Rob) Coons, Kent (Carolyn) Gracey, Kristi (Ray) Lancaster, and Jim (Debbie) Steingrandt; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Bob) Hobdy; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn. Services will be at 10:00 am on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Moats officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
