Mary Kathryn Brown Obituary

Mary Kathryn Brown, 77, of Farmersville passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield with family by her side.

She was born September 24, 1943 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Betty Martin.  She was preceded in death by her mother, grandmother, three aunts, and an uncle.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1961. She retired from the State of Illinois after 20 plus years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Alter and Rosary Society. She enjoyed attending the Knights of Columbus functions, playing golf, reading books from the local library and spending time with her family. Her two granddaughters were her pride and joy.

She married William (Bill) L. Brown on February 12, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmersville.

She is survived by her husband, son Tim (companion, Alisha Anker) Brown of Greenview, IL, daughter Selena (John) Gorman of Waggoner and two granddaughters Taylor Brown of Alton and Rachael Gorman (friend Kolby Nimmo) of Farmersville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm Thursday, July 29, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmersville beginning with a prayer service at 3:30 pm. Additional visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am till time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmersville with Rev. John Burnette officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin’s Cemetery in Farmersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin’s Cemetery or the Montgomery County Breast Cancer Support Group.
