Mary Jane Brewer

Mary Jane Brewer, 93 of Springfield passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital.

She was born July 5, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Chester and Dorothy Daigh Edwards.

She married Alvin “Shorty” Brewer on Jan. 12, 1984 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2016.  Also, preceded in death by her brother, Gene Edwards and step-son, Donald Brewer.

Surviving are three children, Lyndall (Debbie) Large, Roger (Barb) Large and Crystal (Brad) Mayer; two step-sons, Alvin (Donna) Brewer and James (Betty) Brewer; one step-daughter, Carolyn (Ron) Kohlrus; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James “Jimmy” Edwards; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4pm till 6pm, Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon.  Graveside services will be held at 10am, Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Hospice.
