Martin “Marty” Forgas, 65 of Auburn passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Marty was born March 19, 1958 in Springfield, the son of Paul and June Krug Forgas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marty married Jeannette Yacup on July 19, 1980 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Auburn.
He worked for the Department of Revenue for 30 years retiring in 2014. Marty was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed being outside sitting on his deck and taking pride in caring for his Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Marty’s greatest joy in life was being a Papa to his two grandsons, Silas and Kellan, and going on adventures with them.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannette; two daughters, Amy (Eddie) Sullenger and Sarah Forgas; grandsons, Silas and Kellan Sullenger; granddaughter, Elise Sullenger; eight siblings, Mike (Judy) Forgas, Chris (Bill) Parker, Henry (deceased, Patricia) Forgas, Bill Forgas, Matt (Beth) Forgas, Tim (Mary) Forgas, Melissa (Tom) Davis and Susan Bryant; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. A meal will follow at Holy Cross Parrish in Auburn.
