Lugenia Jane Smith

Lugenia Jane Smith, 81 of Riverton formerly of Divernon passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. 

She was born December 13, 1943 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Nellie Rhodes and Howard Rhodes.

Jane was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, & friend. Everyone knew her, and to know her was to love her. She held many jobs through her life. To note a few, she was a manager of the Hen House in Divernon and later retired from Sparc as a job coach for the developmentally disabled where she earned an award for being an outstanding employee. She was known for her kind open heart, supportive nature, ability to make anyone feel loved, and determination to do what's right. 

She valued spending time with family and friends, reading books, and working hard.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Rhodes; two sons, Ronnie Smith and Parish Smith; two granddaughters, Sommer Thornton and Kaitlyn Smith; great-granddaughter, Everly Kirberg; three sisters, Lowanda Taylor, Judy Sandoval, and Joan Wanless who preceded Jane's death. 

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm till 4pm, Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Bramley Funeral Home and Reception Center, 150 Reichert Road, Divernon, IL 62530.
