Luann Brown Kurth

Luann Brown Kurth, 75, was called to her Savior Jesus on April 17, 2026.  She passed at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, Florida surrounded by her loving family.

Luann was born May 9, 1950 in Springfield, Illinois to her parents, Louise and David H. Brown Jr., and was raised by her loving family in Divernon, Illinois.  She attended grade and high school in Divernon.

She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1973. She first taught grade school for four years in Keokuk, Iowa and Phoenix, Arizona.  She then spent 38 years co-owning and operating D H Brown Saloon in Springfield, Illinois before retiring to Sarasota, Florida.

On July 23, 1977, she married the love of her life Henry C. Kurth.  In 1981 her beloved son, Edward, was born.

Luann was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Charles and David H. Brown III. 

She is survived by her husband, Henry Kurth; a son, Edward (Chrissy) Kurth; her beloved sister Nancy Brown; her, brother Thomas Brown; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Luann was a very special person who dearly loved and had a vibrant zest for life.  She always enjoyed time with her family and her many friends.  She will be dearly missed by so many.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon, 150 Reichert Road. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reception Hall. Interment will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, in her family plot, at a later date.
