Louise Brown passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters, a close family friend Linda Fisher and her beloved dog Chico in Siesta Key, Florida on March 9, 2024 at the age of 99.
She was born September 25, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina the daughter of David F. and Corrie Hill.
She married the love of her life David H. Brown Jr. in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1992. The couple settled in Divernon, Illinois where they raised their family. They operated the family farm and ran several successful restaurants and service stations. They traveled extensively throughout the Country and World and retired to Florida in 1981.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Nancy Brown and Luann Brown Kurth (Henry) of Sarasota Florida; son, Thomas (Kathy) Brown of O’Fallon, Illinois; and five nieces, four nephews, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Joann (Norman) Semrock of Carlinville Illinois.
She was proceeded in death by her husband; sons, David H Brown III, and Charles Brown, and her sister, Margaret Stutler.
Louise was a vivacious and loving person who truly enjoyed life. She was a successful business woman in partnership with her husband and children. But most importantly she was an amazing mother and grandmother who truly loved her family and friends. She will be missed by so many.
Florida friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of life to be held at Captain Curt’s coffee and beer garden in Sarasota on May 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
Memorial services will be held for family and close friends at 1pm, Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd, Divernon. Private burial was held in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
