Leon Berkley, 95 of Pawnee passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Manteno Veterans’ Home.
He was born September 26, 1930 in Olaton, KY the son of Homer and Silvia Sandidge Pharris Berkley.
Leon married Shirley Hausback on February 12, 1966 and she preceded him in death on February 6, 1993. Also, preceded in death by a son, Michael Berkley.
Leon served in the US Navy for eight years. He worked for Weavers, Fiat-Alice, and Echlin. Leon loved to garden, fish, hunt, camp, and build airplanes, but most importantly he was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Surviving are his children, Leah Hackley, Erik Berkley, Kristin (Mark) Cronister; six grandchildren, Robert (Kristie) Miller Jr, Anthony Miller Sr, Hunter and Cade Berkley, Austin and Ava Cronister; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2026 from 10 am until time of services at 11 am at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Road, in Divernon. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.
