Larry D. Garst

Larry D. Garst, 68 of Palmyra passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born June 2, 1953 in Camp Pendleton, CA, son of Clarence and Florence Garst.

Larry married Gloria Holder-Belt on Aug. 27, 1982 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2021.  Also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Brenda; one brother, Ronald Garst.

He worked as an electronic repair technician and then later worked for the A.D.G.P.T.V. and Scottville Rural Water Commission water plants. He then worked as Superintendent for Palmyra/Modesto water treatment plant.

Surviving are three children, Sherry Belt, Susie (Lonnie) Loeschner and Mark Garst; 9 grandchildren, Nick Hornbuckle, Justin (Shayna) Copeland, Holly Copeland, Jimmy Brake, Bailey Garst, Devin (Chelsie) Martin, Karson Garst, Klaire Cole, and Jalane Brake; 6 great-grandchildren; one uncle, Fred Garst; one aunt Margaret Highly; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 at Girard Cemetery with Rev. Tim Moats officiating. A dinner will be provided following the graveside at Girard Community building.
