Kathy Kern

Kathy Kern, 70 of Hillsboro, formerly of Divernon passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

She was born July 9, 1956 in Springfield, the daughter of Eileen and Raymond Kern.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rebecca Lipe and Cindy Gilmore; and her life partner, Mike Gibson.

Kathy retired in 2021 after 30 plus years running her own beauty shop in Divernon.  She also provided beautician services for Bramley Funeral Home.

Surviving are two brothers, Keith Kern and Monte Kern; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites were accorded.  No services will be held per Kathy’s wishes.
