Jeffrey Lynn Allen

Jeffrey Lynn Allen, 67 of Divernon went home to see his Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026 at 3:26 a.m. surrounded by his family.

He was born May 23, 1958 in Springfield, the son of John and Nellie VanHuss Allen.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Joyce Peters and two brothers-in-law, Bill Brewer and Kirby Peters.

He had worked for the railroad and the coalmine but most recently he worked for the Village of Divernon. 

Jeff was a wonderful soul full of love and compassion.  He never failed to help out a stranger.

Jeff touched so many people throughout his life.  Countless people have been saved because of him.  He was always ready to share a Bible verse or a pocket Bible.

He was truly a man of God.  His faith defined him. 

Surviving are one son, Jacob Lynn Allen; two brothers, John and Joe Allen; five sisters, Jane (Rick) Irwin, Judy (Jim) Crouch, Janet Brewer, Jennifer Allen and Jewel (Prentice Emerson) Brant; three nephews, Harrison and Myles Brant and Drake Nix.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for June 27, 2026.
