James "Jim" Grahn Obituary

James “Jim” Grahn, 65 of Divernon passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

He was born Sept. 5, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Ken and Eleanor Drexler Grahn.

He married Susan Nesselrodt and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2002.  Also, preceded in death by his parents.

He was employed at Springfield Plastics in Auburn.

Jim loved motorcycles and mopar vehicles.  He restored and enjoyed many cars and bikes.  He was an active member of the Vintage Iron Riders Motorcycle Club, where he made many friends and passed along a lot of knowledge. 

Jim also was a firearm activist as well as a French and Indian War Reenactor.

One of Jim’s accomplishments was being on the varsity team for Sangamon State University’s first soccer team, The Prairie Stars.  His love of sports followed him into his adult life, when he coached countless youth teams of soccer and softball. 

Surviving are his daughter, Jena Grahn and one brother, Mike (David Daugherty) Grahn.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Inurnment will be in the spring at Cypress Masonic Cemetery, Cypress, IL.
