James E. Downing, Jr.

James E. Downing, Jr., 76 of Pawnee passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

He was born January 6, 1948 in St. Louis, MO; the son of James and Dorothy Scott Downing, Sr.  He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

James served in the Navy CBs during the Vietnam War.  He drove the bus for Vista Unified School District in California for the handicap kids.  He also worked at Wal-Mart in Taylorville.

Surviving are his two daughters, Alyson (Anthony) Aurigemma and LeAnne (Greg) LaPorte; two grandchildren, Quint and Owen Aurigemma; two siblings, Sue Irwin and Roger Downing; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11am, Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
