Helen Ann Mings

Helen Ann Mings, 80 of Divernon passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at her home with her family.

She was born April 17, 1946 in Joliet, IL; the daughter of Clarence and Helen States Gullicksen. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dale and Lucky Gullicksen.

Helen married Gary Mings on June 8, 1968 in New Lenox, IL, sharing nearly 58 years together.

Helen was a member of Southern View Chapel in Springfield. She retired from Auburn Elementary School after 38 years of teaching.

Surviving are her husband, Gary; one daughter, Jennifer (David) Manning; one son, Ryan Mings; two grandchildren, Maxwell Manning and Zoe Manning.

Helen will be remembered for her kind heart, strong faith, sense of humor, love of reading, and chocolate chip cookies and apple squares. Helen was well loved by her family, as well as countless friends such as Auburn teachers, neighbors, and friends from church.

Visitation will be from 4pm till time of funeral services at 6pm, Monday, June 8, 2026 at Southern View Chapel, Springfield with Rev. Gary Gilley officiating. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Southern View Chapel, Springfield.
