Harold Kenneth Bentley Sr., 90 of Springfield passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center.
Harold spent his last moments with family before peacefully departing from this life.
He was born July 8, 1930 in Jacksonville, IL the son of Irvin and Hazelteen Bentley. After Hazelteen’s premature departure, Dolly Bentley stepped in as a mother figure for Harold to raise him and his sister, Wilma.
Harold married Betty King in May of 1958. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, step mother, and sister.
Harold was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and genuinely fun person. He was a Korean War Veteran, Mason, Ansar Shriner and member of The American Legion. He retired from Fiat-Allis and the Labor’s Local 477.
He is survived by his wife Betty; son, Harold “Kenny” Jr. (wife, Becky); grandchildren, Ken, Brett, and Brittany; great granddaughter, Lennon; sister-in-law, Lucy Roberts and Mary Dunaway; brother-in-law, Bob King (wife, Judy) and many nieces and nephews.
Private burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
