Glenn "Jack" Francis Rutherford

Glenn Francis “Jack” Rutherford, 90 of Auburn passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at his home.

He was born February 24, 1934 in Springfield, the son of Glenn C. and Katherine Frances Springer Rutherford.

He married June Easley on February 1, 1959 and she preceded him in death on May 30, 2021. Also, preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katherine Ann Rutherford Clarizio; and brother, Donald Rutherford.

Glenn served in the US Army. While stationed in Virginia, he served as one of the honor escorts for the inauguration of President Eisenhower.  He retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline.

He was an early volunteer with SANGAMAC Auburn and received an award for his years of dedication in May 1984.

Glenn enjoyed travel and camping with family and friends. He also was a fan of cars, trucks and anything with four wheels that you could drive.

Surviving are one son, David Brett Rutherford; sister-in-law, Janet (Harry) Baggerly of Rockville, IN; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10am till time of services at 11:30am, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Auburn United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Dinges officiating.  Burial will be at Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Auburn United Methodist Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Make-A-Wish or Special Olympics.
