Glen Lytle Obituary

Glen D. Lytle, 91 of Pawnee passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Eastland Retirement Community.

He was born June 4, 1931, the son of Glen E. and Jannie Davis Lytle.

He married Beverly Edwards on May 28, 1959 and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2003.  He was also, preceded in death by seven siblings, Thelma Lytle, Betty Dearmont, Clay Lytle, Vern Lytle, Lloyd Lytle, Dorothy McCormick, and Calvin Lytle.

He served in the U.S. Marines as a heavy equipment operator.  He drove a semi-truck for FS until he retired.  He was a member of Pawnee Assembly of God where he was a board member and Sunday School teacher. 

Glen was also an active member in the senior group and RV maps, where he helped build churches and homes.  He loved to travel and visited 49 of 50 states mostly on his motorcycle with his wife on the back.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy (David) King of Divernon, Shelley (Gary) Sitze of Pawnee and Stephanie (Ryan) Elsasser of Effingham; eight grandchildren, Dorrie (Jarred) Seamans of Melissa, TX, Nathan (Erica) King of Divernon, Marissa (Josh Clements) King of Rockford, Kaitlyn (Aaron) Totter of Downers Grove, Candice (Mitchell) Jackson of Belleville, Brandt (Nicole) Sitze of Chatham, Kasondra Murray and Jordan Elsasser both of Effingham; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Leona Schlunsen of Omaha, NE; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5pm till 7pm, Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Pawnee Assembly of God Church in Pawnee.  Services will be at 10:30am, Monday at the church with Rev. Lamoin Lytle officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee.

Memorials may be made to Atrium Health Wake Forrest Baptist - Bleyer Inherited Kidney Disease Fund or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
