Eric Neumann

Eric Neumann, 54 of Auburn passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 8, 1968 in Springfield, the son of Ernie and Rachel Jenkins Neumann.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman Neumann, Wilhelmina Neumann and Mary Neumann and his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Ruth Jenkins.

Eric married Anna Smarjesse on Sept. 30, 1995 and they later divorced.

He graduated from Auburn Community High School and was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University.  While in high school, he was an accomplished high jumper and still holds the high jump record that he set back in 1986.  Eric was also an accomplished athlete in many sports.  He spent most of his professional career in the IT field in the Springfield area.

Eric’s interests and knowledge were quite extensive and varied.  He possessed a vast knowledge of sports and all sporting events.  He excelled at golf.  Eric was known as a scratch golfer by all in the area.

Surviving are his parents, Ernie and Rachel; daughter, Emelia (Emme) Neumann; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. 

Visitation will be from 4pm till 7pm, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn.  Services will be at 10am, Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard R. Harre officiating.  Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.
