Ellis “Bill” D. McKain, 84 of Auburn passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
He was born March 12, 1940 in Farmersville, the son of August and Evelyn (Baker) McKain.
He married Charlotte Nardi in 1968.
Bill owned and operated McKain’s Radio and TV in Auburn for 45 years.
Bill graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield in 1958 where he inherited the nickname “Fireball” by the baseball team. He was a member of Auburn American Legion Post 277, past president of South County Democrats, past president of the Rod and Reel Club, past member of Auburn Sports Boosters, a member of the Auburn Methodist Church.
Bill loved having fun and entertaining friends and telling stories of the past.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Eric (Christine) and Tim (Missy); four grandchildren, Maddison, Bailey, Ty and Miah; one brother, Don; one sister, Sharon.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4pm till 6pm, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd, Divernon.
Memorials may be made to the Auburn American Legion Post 277.
