Earl L. Reese, 84 of Auburn, formerly of Petersburg passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at Arcadia Care in Auburn after a 15 year battle with Parkinson’s.
He was born October 8, 1938 in Eldred, the son of Edmund and Rosie Suttles Reese.
Earl married Betty Behl on December 13, 1958 and she preceded him in death on January 20, 2021. Also preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Everett, Harvey, Donna Wigger, Cheri Eyer, Edward, and Norbert.
Earl retired from the State Journal Register’s maintenance department. He became a snowbird with the love of his life, Betty and friends, traveling to Texas, Tennessee and back. He loved shopping for jewelry for Betty, taking walks around the camp ground and riding the golf cart with Betty, the grandkids and his daughter. He loved spending time with his daughter, grandkids and great-grandkids, and spending time by the camp fire with an ice cold Stag. Earl enjoyed tinkering with things such as wood work and lights. He loved his motorcycle rides.
Surviving are one daughter, Candy (Doug) Leach of Auburn; three sons, Robert, Mike and Tim; 11 grandchildren, Monica Powell of Auburn, Debbie (Kenny) Stayton of Girard, Adam (Lindsey Nash) Luttrell of Girard, Edward Luttrell of Auburn, and Dougie (Tiffany) Leach of Pawnee; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn from 10 am till time of services at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Pine Tree Cemetery in Patterson, IL.
