Dorothy L. Goleman, 98 of Naples, FL, formerly of Divernon, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 23, 1927 in rural Virden on the family farm; the daughter of Lawrence and Helen Hinkle Reichert.
She married A. Leo Goleman on July 23, 1950 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1987. She was also preceded in death by three children, Melinda, Ann and John; one brother, Tom Reichert.
Dorothy graduated from Virden High School in 1945. She received a bachelors degree in Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan in 1949. She taught music for Springfield District 186. She gave private piano/organ lessons for 58 years.
She was a member of the Divernon United Methodist Church for 71 years and music director for many years.
Surviving are one son, Andy (Gwen Montgomery) Goleman; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Goleman; four grandchildren, Cory, Ryan, Blake and Erin; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Sam, Grant and Leah; one brother, Fred (Eileen) Reichert; sister-in-law, Luann Reichert; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4pm till 7pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd, Divernon. Additional visitation will be from 10am till time of funeral services 11am, Thursday at Divernon United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Sharp and Rev. Chuck Kurfman officiating. Burial will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
