Doris Haines, formerly Doris Roth (nee Dautel) peacefully passed into Gods loving arms on Wednesday morning, November 10, 2021.
Doris was born on June 10, 1931 in Auburn, IL to John Henry and Margaret Juliet (nee Margaron) Dautel. She was a 1950 graduate of Auburn High School. Doris married Louis W. “Pete” Roth of Chatham on April 8, 1950 and they were blessed with three children (Rita, Joyce and William). She was a devoted wife and loving mother, as well an active participant in the family farm. Doris worked for more than 30 years at the Holiday Inn East in Springfield as a banquet waitress. Doris was a charter member of the Chatham Women’s Club, which founded the original Chatham Library. She was active for many years in the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Louis preceded her in death on July 11, 1997. On December 3, 2005, she married John Haines, who sadly passed away on September 20, 2018. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Dautel, her twin sister, Dolores Alderson, and son-in-law, John Evans.
Doris is survived by her brother, John (Billee) Dautel; daughters, Rita Evans and Joyce (Tom) Brooks; son, William (Janet) Roth; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Chatham. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the church with Rev. Joseph Molloy officiating. Burial to follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
