Dean Allister Currie of Des Plaines, IL passed away peacefully Thursday January 4,2024 on his 77th birthday.
He was born January 4, 1947, in Springfield IL, the son of Thomson M. Currie and Marjorie (Beynon) Currie.
He was the beloved husband of Carol L. (Vieira) Currie. Dear father of Brian Dean and Michaeal Thomson (Erica) Currie. Dearest grandfather of Emma Michele and Ryan Michael Currie. Loving brother of Thomson B. Currie Debra L. Smith, the late David R. and Betty Gregurek, uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Dean was a graduate of Springfield High School class of 1965 and of DeVry Technical Institute of Chicago with a degree in electronics. He also held many certificates in HVAC.
Dean was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Des Plaines and served as an Elders for many years, was a member of the choir and served on other boards as well. He enjoyed participating in the Boy Scouts of America with his sons. Dean was very involved in martial arts at the Chicago Mudo Center. He spent most of his working career in Heating and Air Conditioning as a Serviceman, Service Manager, Sales and Service Representative.
Visitation will be from 10am till time of service at 11am, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd., Divernon, IL. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
