Charles Henry Williams, 90 of Divernon passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Concordia Village Skilled Nursing Care.
The oldest son of Ira Henry William Williams (Farina, IL 1905 - 1982) and Dorothy Eliza Dalton-Klanke Williams (Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada 1914- 1995) of Hillsboro, IL.
He married Lucille Nichols August 27, 1960 and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2022. Also preceded in death by his siblings, Alta Margaret Murdock, Iva Emoline Rogers, and Idamae Maxine McBride.
Chuck served in the Air Force 1955-1959 Teletype & Cryptographic Operator and spent 6 months in Taiwan (formerly Formosa) in a combat zone during Quemoy Crisis.
He worked in 1959-60 Western/Olin Mathieson Quality Control, 1960-61 Shell Refinery Lab Sampler, 1961-1991 Artist/Technical Illustrator Publications Dept Fiat-Allis Construction Machinery. When Fiat closed he worked at State of Illinois Drivers Services and Security Guard at the Capitol Complex in Springfield, IL for 22 years.
He sang in the Methodist Church Choir, volunteered as a little league baseball coach, golf chaperone for local children in Divernon and precinct committee man, Lions Club, and American Legion member.
Surviving are two children, Kevin (Jean) Williams and Sherri Williams; three dearly loved grandchildren, Jared Williams, Kara (Matthew) Strubinger, and Kurtis Williams; one great grandchild, Myles Williams; two sisters, Edith Elaine (Bill) Milkes and Dorothy “Dottie” Henrietta Pearl (Phil) Lindholm.
Visitation will be from 1pm till time of services at 2pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Bramley Funeral Home, 11 N. 1st St, Divernon with Rev. Randy Sharp officiating . Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
