Carrie Pillischafske

Carrie Pillischafske, 68 of Auburn passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 11, 1958 in Springfield, IL; the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy Hawk Pillischafske.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patricia; two aunts, Barbara McDonald and Jean LeConte and their husbands.

Carrie graduated from Auburn High School.  She worked for Franklin Life/AIG for over 30 years and later worked for SASED at Auburn School District.  She was member of Countryview Christian Church in Girard.

Surviving are her adopted family, Don and Jill Thornton; two nephews, Clint Thornton and Cole (Megan) Thornton; two great-nephews, Jackson and Jace; one great-niece, Willow; and several cousins.

Visitation will be from 10am till time of memorial service 11am, Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Countryview Christian Church, 19909 Crown 2 Mine Rd, Girard with Rev. Anthony Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Countryview Christian Church in Girard or Auburn United Methodist Church.
