Carol Sue Greene, 79 of Auburn passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1945, in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of James Ralph and Lois Lowe Watson.
Carol Sue married Howard Greene on April 14, 1983, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2003. Also, preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
She retired from Auburn School District in 2015, where she was loved by all the students and lovingly called “grandma”. She was an amazing artist, fantastic cook, avid sewer, loved to read mystery books, gardening, feeding the birds and fishing. Carol Sue loved her great grandbabies.
Surviving are her children, Kennith “Charles” (Kathy Smith) Watson, Tamie Nickel, Edith (Jim) Snell and Lori (Don Gehrig) Bostick; six grandchildren, Laura, Dawn, William, Audrey, Megan and Justin; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Max Watson, Darrel Watson, and Gary Watson; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Private graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
Visitation will be from 12:30pm till time of memorial service at 1:30pm, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn with Rev. David Van Bebber officiating. After services everyone is invited to Meadowbrook Baptist Church for food and followship.
Memorial may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
