Carol Joy Bumgarner

Carol Joy Bumgarner, 75 of Chatham passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at her home.

She was born December 9, 1947 in Springfield, the daughter of Edsel and Mary Margaret Clark Gilreath.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Geneva Clem.

Carol worked at Horace Mann for over 30 years until her retirement.  She volunteered at Lincoln Memorial Gardens and St. John’s  Hospice.

Surviving are her son Matthew Bumgarner; daughter, Mandie (TJ) Henson; two grandsons, Sawyer and AJ Henson; four sisters, Grace Wisniewski, Malinda Paine, Jessica Sharp and Amy Gilreath; brother, Michael Gilreath; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:30am till time of memorial services at 11am, Monday, April 17, 2023 at Sugar Creek Methodist Church, Chatham with Rev. Paul Dinges officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Sugar Creek Cemetery, Glenarm.
