Bruce Rouland Eldridge

Bruce Rouland Eldridge, 81 of Virden passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital.

He was born Dec. 3, 1940 in Springfield, the son of Loren and Gladys Rouland Eldridge.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Phyllis Garst, Wanda Micheli and Donna Baggerly.

Bruce married Marjorie Yasinski on Jan. 21, 1966.

He graduated from Auburn High School in 1958.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965 where he learned to be a diesel mechanic which he did until retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; five children, Daniel (Charlene) Eldridge of New Berlin, Bruce L. (Denise) Eldridge of Auburn, Scott (Jackie) Eldridge of Chatham, Mark (Beth) Eldridge of Jerseyville and Nanci (Paul) Lore of New Berlin; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Defraties; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5pm till 7pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn.  Services will be at 11am, Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Nic Cook officiating.  Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
