Betty I. Reese, 81 of Auburn, formerly Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 at Hallmark Healthcare in Carlinville after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born July 12, 1939 in New Berlin, the daughter of Arthur and Iona Wilner Behl.
Betty married Earl Reese on Dec. 13, 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Alberta, Bernice, Charlotte and Mary; seven brothers, Terry, Artie, Louie, Dick, Bob, Herman and Morris.
Betty loved traveling in the camper with her husband, spending time with her family; loving on her grandchildren, playing bingo, shopping at Walmart, taking the bus to go shopping, cooking and riding the golf cart with her husband. She retired from Memorial Medical Center, then worked part-time at NSPOA in Petersburg for several years.
Surviving are her husband, Earl; one daughter, Candy (Doug) Leach of Auburn; three sons, Robert, Mike and Tim; 10 grandchildren, Monica Powell of Auburn, Debbie (Kenny) Stayton of Girard, Adam Luttrell of Girard and Edward Luttrell of Buffalo; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Gillis of Jacksonville; one brother, Larry Behl of Bradley; several nieces and nephews.
CDC protocol shall be followed with face masks required and limited attendance.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn from 10am till time of services at 12noon with Pastor Larry Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Tree Cemetery in Patterson, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
