Wm. David “Dave” Clark, 77 of Spirit Lake, IA, formerly of Chatham died Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 21, 1940 in Springfield, the son of William David and Mary Gilpin Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Bryan (Lil B) Dennis Clark.
He married Carolyn Reynolds on Sept. 22, 1962 at the First United Presbyterian Church of Moline.
Dave grew up in Chatham where he attended Glenwood High School and then graduated from University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural mechanization. He served in the Airforce from 1962-1967 at which time he was honorably discharged with a rank of Air Force 1st Lieutenant.
He owned and operated the John Deere dealership in Sibley, IA until he retired in 2004.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; son, Bryan David (Shelley) Clark of Worthington, MN; daughter, Kimberly Renee (Jeff ) Philo of Rockledge, FL; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel (Charlotte) Clark and Jay D. (Kathy) Clark both of Chatham; sister, Judith Clark of Cypress, CA.
Visitation will be from 10am till time of services at 11am, Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 at Sugar Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Dinges officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Sugar Creek Cemetery, Glenarm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Sibley, IA; Lakes Regional Hospice, Spirit Lake, Iowa; Cancer Research for Kidney Cancer; or the Sibley Fire Department, Sibley, IA.
