Stanley Wayne Searcy, Sr., 92 of Auburn passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 9, 1925 in Taylorville, IL, the son of Edgar and Willa Seeders Searcy.
He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Towne on Sept. 17, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2011. Also, preceded in death by one son, Stanley Wayne Searcy, Jr. and two brothers, Earl and Leroy.
He serviced in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951- 1953. Stanley farmed on his family farm for most of his working life, he worked winters at Staab Battery, and retired from the State of Illinois Sign Shop. He was a member of the Auburn VFW and The New Testament Church in Auburn.
Surviving are two sons, Howard (Denise) Searcy of Auburn and Edgar (Carol) Searcy of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Martha Searcy of Auburn; four grandchildren, Chy Searcy, Sarah Sawyer, Matthew Searcy and Stanley Searcy III; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Boehler of Kincaid; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10am till time of services at 11am, Monday, July 30, 2018 at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn with Rev. Jim Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee with Auburn American Legion and VFW conducting military honors.
