Roberta Rose Rhodes Woodward, 67 of Divernon passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Creve Coeur, MO.
She was born May 10, 1950 in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Rosemary Hughes Rhodes, Sr. She is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Zachary Dale.
After twenty years, Roberta retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections Training Academy. She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reuniting with DOC retirees, rooting on her favorite St. Louis Cardinals (GO YADI) and the Fighting Illini.
Surviving are three daughters, Tamela (Troy) Squires, Kerri Woodward and Melissa (Ryan) Calloway; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kourtney, Katie, Zoe and William; three great-grandchildren, Arabella, Wesley and Owen; three siblings, Robert (Mary) Rhodes, Jr., Randall (Julie) Rhodes and Rhonda (companion, Todd Becker) Bentley; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Visitation will be from 4pm till 7pm, Friday, April 27, 2018 at Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon. Services will be at 10:30am, Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chuck Kurfman and Chaplain Janet Hatmaker officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon with military honors conducted by the Auburn VFW and American Legion. A celebration luncheon will follow at the Divernon United Methodist Church for all to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Divernon Fire Department.
