Lucille (Hoard) Wilson Cummings

Lucille (Hoard) Wilson Cummings, 90 of Virden, formerly of Auburn, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 17, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Josephine (Smock) Hoard.

Lucille married Robert Wilson on December 27, 1947 and he preceded her in death. She later married Burl Cummings on May 27, 1967 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sons: Robert Wilson, Gary Wilson, and Ronald Cummings; brothers: Chester (Mary) Hoard, Robert Hoard, and Raymond (Dorothy) Hoard; sisters: Margaret (Gus) Dorsey, Loretta (Tom) Cloyd, and Josephine (Jerry) Hemberger.

Lucille was a homemaker and worked for the Secretary of State, Capital Area Vocational Center, and South County Publications, retiring in 2011.

Surviving Lucille are three daughters Nancy (David) Smith of Auburn, Shelley Bergschneider of Auburn, and Lori Fanale of Springfield;  19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters Erma Fedor of Houston, TX and Marian Marsaglia of Auburn, and sister-in-law Aldona Hoard of Scottsdale, AZ, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till time of services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn.  Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Lucille’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 2309 W White Oaks, Ste E, Springfield, IL  62704.
