Kay Frances Carlton

Kay Frances Carlton, 78, of Memphis, Tennessee died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born September 16, 1938 to Bernard and Raimelle (Warren-Carter) Kennedy.

Kay attended Messick High School and received her B.A from Memphis State University and a master's degree in social work from the University of Tennessee.

She was employed by the state of Tennessee at Arlington Developmental Center as a psychiatric social worker.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Carter of Memphis, Tennessee.

Surviving are her children, Connie Reed of San Jose, California; Scott Reed of San Francisco, California; Lisa Reed (Mark Thorne) of Reedham, UK; Erin (Timothy) Bidleman of Auburn, Illinois; one grandchild, Sarah Bidleman and sister-in-law Anne Carter.

Cremation rites were accorded and an open house at the family residence in Memphis, Tennessee will be held Saturday, August 19 at 2 pm with ashes spread in Monterey Bay, California in January.
