Jeffery "Jeff" C. LeMar, 63 of Divernon passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 in Corpus Christi, TX.
He was born June 21, 1955 in Springfield, the son of Howard and Inis Baker LeMar. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Kay.
He married Connie Fifer on Sept. 2, 1977.
Jeff graduated from Porta High School in 1973. He owned and operated LeMar trucking company. He drove a school bus for Divernon and Auburn schools and worked for Dowson farms for many years. He was a member of Teamster’s Local 916 and was currently working on the pipe line in Corpus Christi, TX. Jeff logged over 4 million miles and received several safety awards.
He was like a father and mentor to many more children than his own. Jeff’s interests were driving trucks or anything with a steering wheel, repairing anything, camping, cooking, mushroom hunting, traveling, sports, and playing with his grandkids and dog, Sunny.
Surviving are his wife, Connie; four children, Chad (companion, Holly Brown) LeMar, Aimee (Mitch) Schoen, Clint (Morgan) LeMar and Shelby (companion, Ryan Crouse) LeMar; four grandchildren, Tayler, Luke, Madden and Mailee; one brother, David (Renea) LeMar; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and an honorary son, Jerry Harvey .
The family has requested that casual clothing or Cardinals apparel be worn.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at Auburn Junior High at Divernon. Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn with Rev. Martin Kaufmann officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Children’s Hospital and Animal Protective League.
