Edith Maurine “Monnie” (Gilvin) Deavult, 88, of Pawnee passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born March 2, 1930 in Sharpsburg, KY, the daughter of William and Hazel Duncan Gilvin.
She married Robert Smith and they later divorced. She then married Van Deavult on Nov. 27, 1970 in Lincoln and he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1995. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Monnie was a member of the Pawnee United Methodist Church. She worked for the State of Illinois for 52 years.
Surviving are one son, Michael Smith of Chicago; two daughters, Sandra (David) Bell and Rhonda (James) Deavult-Smith both of Pawnee; four grandchildren, Crystal (Scott Jones) Bell of Kincaid, Bradley (Anne) Bell of Pawnee, Evan and Ryan Smith of Pawnee; three great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Kamryn and Brogan Bell; three step-great-children, Bailey St. Clair, Mitchell and Brady Jones; two brothers and two sisters, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11am till time of services at 1pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Pawnee United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Kurfman officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee.
Memorials may be made to the Pawnee United Methodist Church.
